Our records are by names, not locations. Our records will list all the ground owned by an individual, but if you want to know who owns a certain lot, go to the Board of Assessment office at 55 E Court Street and locate the lot on the tax map. They can tell you the owner, as well as our book and page reference.

Deeds in Pennsylvania and most states are available at county courthouses. If your home is quite old, you will want to begin with the Pennsylvania State Archives' Bureau of Land Records. There is a searchable Land Records index to locate records through the 19th century.

Yes. All papers recorded in our office are public information with the exception of military discharge papers. This means anyone can visit our office and look at your deed or mortgage.

You can receive a copy of a deed or mortgage by calling the office at 215-348-6209 or sending a request to the Recorder of Deeds office. The charge is $1 per page. If you want the copy certified there is an additional fee of $1.50. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
